"The Scent of Rice" delves into the evocative works of Chakraborty, encompassing scratched drawings, installations, poetry, video, and sound. Within this artistic realm, traces of displacement and the traumas of colonialism find expression, interwoven with the complexities of language and identity.Chakraborty's creations explore the strategies and discourses of resistance narrated by individuals, weaving together micro-histories overlooked by conventional narratives. Through their art, the artist sheds light on marginalized voices that have shaped our collective human experience. Inspired by the concept of "Convivio," Chakraborty contemplates the remnants of our civilization, prompting questions about envisioning a new feast for humanity. Drawing from the power of "cognitive poetry," the artist ignites a fresh sense of learning at the heart of this transformative journey. Listening becomes an act of resistance in Chakraborty's practice, offering a profound tool in the ongoing anti-colonial struggle. Poetry acts as a catalyst for introspection, provoking deep thought.
