Bread of Angels by Aramis Navarro & Karen Pisoni

08. February – 16. MARCH 2024

opening 08. FEBRUARY 19:00H

We are thrilled to announce the culmination of our Convivio cycle with the upcoming exhibition, "Bread of Angels," on Thursday, February 8 2024, starting at 7 PM. This duo show featuring Aramis Navarro and Karen Pisoni draws inspiration from the linguistic, iconological, and ontological cues found in Dante's book Convivio, which serves as our guiding theme for the year.

The exhibition will conclude with a special Re-De-Fine Dinner on the 16th of March, marking the closure of our space for a well-deserved break until the next season begins in May. Save the date for an evening of artistic exploration and culinary delights as we bring the Convivio cycle to a captivating close.

Aramis Navarro completed his Master's in Fine Arts at Zhdk in 2021. His artistic research focuses on questioning the image and language system into which he was born. By examining this system through the concept of counterpoint, he is intrigued by moments when familiar harmony is disrupted. These events serve as fertile ground from which he draws curiosity and ideas. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, he creates texts, installations, and paintings infused with poetry, humor, and narrative moments.

Karen Pisoni resides and works in Renens and is a Swiss-Mexican interior designer. After obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Media and Interaction Design from ECAL, Lausanne, she completed her Master's in Interior Architecture at HEAD, Geneva, in 2021, with a thesis on "Convivio." Her work explores the intersection between art and architecture, with a particular focus on multidisciplinary processes. Based on her personal experiences, she is especially interested in exploring multicultural heritage and the boundaries between the present and tradition. In these contexts, she deconstructs visual and spatial references.
